BBC Children in Need Project ‘My Challenge’

My Challenge!

We have been awarded a grant from BBC Children in Need to offer inspiring opportunities to Children and Young People with disabilities and their siblings.

Download the ‘My Challenge’ flyer to find out more.

All of the activities are open to ALL children and young people which means you don’t have to be already accessing our services in order to be part of it!

Challenge Me

To achieve a dream or an aim, over 1 year

This can be anything a young person would love to do; imaginations can RUN WILD!

  • Learning a new skill
  • Conquering a fear
  • Achieving a goal
  • Making a tangible improvement

Where we are at:

  • Some Young People have told us about their aspirations
  • They have started on their challenges – in bird ringing, fashion and sport.
  • Each young person has a different aim, a different outcome and a different member of staff

supporting them, depending on what their challenge focus is.

We need more ideas from more young people, to make more dreams come true. Our support workers are ready and waiting to hear from you.

Ideas we’ve had (if only WE could do a challenge!): Learn to decorate cakes; learn some DIY; learn how to play basketball or Boccia; join a Duke of Edinburgh group; get a bike safety certificate; go on GO APE to try to stop being so frightened of heights! YIKES!! Do YOU  fancy any of these or have you got other ideas? We’d love to hear them.

Group Challenge (Kids & Sibs)

Fun activities with your siblings; daytime & overnight activities. So far we have seen a Christmas Pantomime, been on Spy Missions and had lunch out.

We are planning exciting events for the Easter Holidays, half term and Summer. Would you like to be part of the FUN?!

Cambridge Ambassadors

Would you like to be part of a group of young people where you can take part in activities which will help you to build your confidence and team working abilities: You could create a short film or presentation to tell people WHAT is important to YOU.

Watch this space and also our Events page to keep up-to-date with the fun events we will be organising.
